Melanie Barlow is Director of Community Engagement for GS1 Canada, a neutral, not-for-profit organization and member of GS1, the world’s leading supply chain standards organization.
Melanie works closely with multiple retailer, broker and distributor accounts assisting them with their community engagement efforts. In doing so, she often works one-on-one with vendors, suppliers and brand owners looking to launch a new product and increase operational efficiencies. Her role also involves understanding and meeting trading partner requirements within the Grocery, Pharmacy and Foodservice sectors.
With over 20 years of valuable experience in different business settings mainly focused on customer care atmospheres, Melanie is highly skilled in the areas of sales and marketing, organizational administration, technical support, and training. She has extensively worked with Quebec-based businesses at GS1 Canada and in former roles in the not-for-profit and public sector.
As a key team member at GS1 Canada, Pierre has wide, multidisciplinary knowledge of the organization. Over the last 15 years, he has played a variety of roles within the organization and is recognized by the industry at large for the exemplary nature of his work.
He is a leader in the food industry sector and has a broad range of skills in product marketing leadership, which extends from product design to sourcing, as well as business development to sales in the retail and foodservice sectors.
Pierre is constantly looking for ways to continue to be proactive by way of his actions and education. He recently completed a certificate in relationship-based selling at HEC Montréal, in addition to his certification from the Culinary Arts School of Ontario.
